Special Place in God's heart

The dashboard light in my truck came on and a warning bell sounded that the left rear tire was very low on air. I was on my way to my nephew's wedding, (Congratulations Cody and Emery!), in Lancaster, PA from New Hampshire on a back road with lots of colorful trees. My heart sank as the vehicle started to

shake. I looked up and on my right, between lots of trees, was a sign that said, "Tire Warehouse." I turned to the right and pulled into the parking lot. Opening the door to get out, old fashioned loudspeakers were playing one of my late husband, Joe's and my songs very loudly.

Walking inside, I had to brush the tears from my cheeks. I sat in the waiting room and the tire guy came out to show me a large screw that was embedded in the tire. He had me on the road in under thirty minutes and the cost was minimal.

Heading back out on the road towards my destination, I thanked my Papa Abba for taking such good care of me. I heard His Voice whisper to my heart, "You know I have a special place in my heart for orphans and widows." Yes, I do Lord! I've seen it over and over and over again in my life journey.

Yes, Lord I do know You have a special place in Your Heart for the homeless and loveless in their plight! James 1:27 You are a Father of orphans (foster and abused kids included), champion of widows (divorced women included). You make homes for the homeless, You lead prisoners to freedom, but You leave rebels to rot in hell. Psalm 68:5-6 You ask us to learn to do good and work for justice; correcting

oppression, and bringing justice to women and children who are or who have been abused, oppressed, mistreated, and bullied. Isaiah 1:17 Amen.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). Domestic violence affects our communities regardless of age, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, and nationality. Please consider supporting your local DV shelter. Showing support for survivors and intolerance of the abuse helps create safe and healthy community.
