The sky has certainly been dramatic lately. Both sunrises and sunsets are breathtakingly gorgeous. My late husband used to say, “Let’s watch God paint the sky. He does such beautiful work!” Or, he’d comment, “Lisa, look what my Dad painted tonight!”
The heavens declare the glory of God; the sky displays His handiwork. Day after day it speaks out; night after night it reveals His greatness. There is no actual speech or word, nor is its voice literally heard. Yet its voice echoes throughout the earth; its words carry to the distant horizon. In the sky He has pitched a tent for the sun. Psalm 19:1-4 (ESV)
Father God, You do beautiful work. Thank You for daily reminders of beauty in the midst of living on an often scary, crazy and progressively evil planet. The sunrise and sunset remind me of Your power and glory. That You are still here. That You are working. That You are in control. That all will be made right someday soon. May Your Kingdom come on earth as it is already in heaven. Amen.
By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can’t see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of His divine being. So nobody has a good excuse. Romans 1:20 (MSG)
