I married at the young age of 19 and had my first child at 22. Sometimes I miss those crazy, fun-filled, hectic, challenging, rewarding days. I was consumed with taking care of my husband and two young children; building our home and business in the process. That did not leave much time to develop and deepen healthy friendships with other women. But now, in this new chapter, I have more time to spend with my girlfriends. At this age, most of my friends are ‘seasoned’ and don’t ‘sweat the small stuff’ so much anymore. It’s very refreshing and often, we laugh freely and without reservation.

Father God, this new chapter of life is sweet. Even though at times I miss being a young wife and mom, I embrace this opportunity to spend time with my girlfriends! Amen.
