Unmet Expectations

I’d entrusted an important job to someone; paying them well in the process. Imagine my surprise when it became evident the job was not done according to the contract. My anger rose quickly. BUT, I’m learning to check my thoughts and attitude before reacting in a manner that I cannot undo later down the road. Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the bosom of fools. Ecclesiastes 7:9 I waited several hours before speaking to the person who’d let me down. I was still angry, but able to control my tongue. Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. Proverbs 14:29

Father God, so many times I blow it when I’m angry. Help me to control my anger by giving it to You. By asking You to show me how to look at the situation through Your eyes. Anger isn’t wrong, but what I do with the anger can be. Amen.

In your anger, do not sin.Ephesians 4:26a
