While encouraging a girlfriend during a difficult time, I received the following text, "...am doing well and leaning on God through the challenges." Later on that same week, another friend commented, "Lisa, you are the queen of leaning in." I confessed to her that leaning into God is not something I do naturally. In the past, I'd often ignore the issue (pretend it wasn't happening), filling my life with things that made me feel better. I did NOT want to deal with the pain; just hoped and prayed it would go away. Now, however, after a ton of training, I've learned to go immediately and directly to my Abba (God's word for Dad). He tells us over and over again to lean INTO and ON Him Alone. Because, frankly, He's got this.
This is what the Lord says— He who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters,.... Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:16-19
Dear Abba, You Alone have ALL the answers. And even though there is much I don't understand, it's okay. You are my refuge and strength; always Present. You say "don't be afraid, I have even this." Thank You for teaching me to LEAN IN and LET GO. You are enough. Amen.
He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But he who walks wisely will be delivered. Proverbs 28:26
