Wound Care

As a wound care nurse, one of my favorite things to watch was when a stubborn wound would finally begin to heal. We'd work with the client and their family, exposing the badly infected area to light; scrubbing and cleaning it until the healthy skin underneath had a chance to grow and take over the bad part. The wound always had to heal from the inside out!

Wound care reminds me of what God's Son did for mankind. He was wounded for our rebellious acts, He was crushed for our sins. He was punished so that we could have peace and we received healing from his wounds. Isaiah 53:5 (GOD'S WORD Translation)

1 Peter 2:24 also supports God's claim that "Christ carried our sins in His body on the cross, so that free from our sins, we could live a life that has God's approval. His wounds have healed you." (GOD'S WORD Translation)

Father God, You were wounded for mankind! You love us so much that You gave us a way out of our humanness and sin. Nobody wants to be wounded, but often, this is where true healing begins. You expose our "dirt" and shame, scrubbing our hearts with Your love and light. You clean us up from the inside out! "..that the One Who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6.t

He reveals the deep and secret things, He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him. Daniel 2:22
