Psalm 23

(Part 1)

Years ago, while fleeing from a dangerous relationship, I cried out to God to rescue me. I remember opening my little travel Bible to Psalm 23. I was confused because this Psalm is often quoted at funerals and I wondered if the Lord was preparing me for death. But, the Holy Spirit assured me that He was my Shepherd and to trust only Him. This simple act of faith took everything I had. My Shepherd led me on a journey that set me free in ways that are indescribable.

Scripture reassures us, “No one who trusts in God like this--heart and soul--will ever regret it. It’s exactly the same no matter what a person’s religious background may be: the same God for all of us, acting the same incredibly generous way to everyone who calls out for help. “Everyone who calls, ‘Help God!’ gets help.”

Romans 10:13

He offers a resting place for me in His luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss. That’s where He restores and revives my life. He opens before me pathways to God’s pleasure and leads me along in His footsteps of righteousness so that I can bring honor to His Name.

Psalm 23:2-3 The Passion.

Abba, words cannot begin to thank You for Who You are and What You do. You took me from the pit of hell and placed me on a path that is indescribably powerful and beautiful. I will continue to tell my story when You prompt me to. What man could and would not do, You did. My heart overflows with gratitude because there is nothing I need that You can’t provide! Amen
