Many ways to Jesus; One way to God

I love hearing the life stories of people and how they came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Their stories are wonderfully unique and remind me of how big and limitless God is.

Recently, on a road trip headed west, my son and I drove separate vehicles. Our goal for the day was to get to McCall, Idaho. We both set off early in the morning from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. About 2 hours from our destination, we were re-routed due to a semi trailer accident. Traffic was backed up for nine miles. The only way to the hotel was a 3-4 hour detour. My son followed his map and drove through the Sawtooth Mountains. I followed my GPS and had a completely different experience than he did. Regardless of our journey, we both eventually ended up at the same destination.

There may be many paths to find Jesus, but once a person meets Him, they have a choice to make. Jesus said, “I am the [only] Way [to God], and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the father but through Me.” John 14:6 AMP

Father God, Your Holy Spirit draws us to Your Son in creative and often unimaginable ways. So often, we think we know how someone’s journey should play out, but only You know the outcome. Once we meet Jesus, He either becomes our chosen and precious cornerstone or He becomes a stumbling stone and a rock of offense. (1 Peter 2:4-8) Jesus is the only way to You, Father God. And may those who follow Jesus continue to take the Love that You’ve poured into them and generously give that same Love to their neighbors. Amen.

As you come to Him, the Living Stone--rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to Him--you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:4-5 NIV)
