Just Jesus

I’m often confronted with life situations where an answer is not readily available or apparent. When this happens, I look to Jesus. Just Jesus. I follow Him and serve Him only. Because, when I was living in a perverse and unsustainable situation, Jesus delivered me. What humans could not do, He did. During that season, I devoured the Word of God as if my human life depended on it; because it actually did! I had faith that God could and would rescue me. I studied how Jesus approached people and the situations that confronted Him. I decided to copy His example no matter what.

Interestingly, during that period, the religious people I’d trusted to be experts on the Word of God gave me advice that made my situation much worse. It wasn’t until I started listening intently to the Holy Spirit that rescue and healing came for me. My people pleasing ways continue to die as I’m being continually transformed into His Image. (Romans 12:2)

Jesus, I ask You for eyes to see, ears that hear, and a heart that's open to You. I will follow Your lead. You have never nor will ever let me down! Your Holy Spirit speaks deeply in my heart and the Scriptures are alive in ways I’ve never experienced. You confirm Yourself in Your Word and I choose to walk by faith and not by sight.

(2 Corinthians 5:7) I choose Jesus. I’m all in. Amen.

Don't let people do that to you, put you on a pedestal like that. You all have a single Teacher, and you are all classmates. Don't set people up as experts over your life, letting them tell you what to do. No one else should carry the title of Father, you have only one Father, and He's in heaven. And don't let people maneuver you into taking charge of them. There is only one Life-Leader for them and you--Christ. Do you want to stand out? Then step down. If you puff yourself up, you'll get the wind knocked out of you. But if you're content to simply be yourself, your life will count for plenty. Matthew 23:8-12
