For many years, I practiced as a registered nurse in the Jefferson and Clearfield county
area. The large hospital I worked out of was an equal opportunity employer and
provider of health care services. An Equal Opportunity Provider (EOP) doesn’t
discriminate against people because of their race, national origin, gender, age, religion,
disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, or marital status. Part of my job description
included providing fair and equal treatment for all. We did not turn away clients when
they needed our services.
Recently, a pastor at the Bayside Community Church in Bradenton, Florida spoke about
how God is the Ultimate Equal Opportunity Provider. This teaching touched my heart as
I reflected on what kind of a Provider the Lord is.
Heavenly Father, You are the Ultimate EOP. You provide more than any human being,
institution, or government ever could. God, my Shepherd! (Provider) I don’t need a
thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, You find me quiet pools to
drink from. Psalm 23:1-2 MSG I marvel at Your faithfulness and goodness in the
midst of any and all circumstances. I rest in Your ability to Provide no matter the
season. You are a Good, Good Father. Amen.
You visit the earth and water it, You greatly enrich it; The river of God is full of
water; You provide their grain, For so You have prepared it. You water its ridges
abundantly, You settle its furrows; You make it soft with showers, You bless it
with growth. You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with
abundance.
