About five years ago, I was at a major and unexpected crossroads. I had some extremely tough decisions to make because of several tragic life circumstances. My faith had been battered and bruised to a point where it was barely the size of a tiny mustard seed.
During this brutal season, Jesus was right beside me, directing every single step as I trusted Him to show the way when there seemed to be no way.
Today, as I look back on that period, I’m grateful it is passed. But, what really stuns me, is what God has done with my faith when it was only the size of a mustard seed. I’m in awe of His love and faithfulness. I’m speechless because of His power and provision and protection. He has made a way through the wilderness. He has brought forth rivers of life and abundance out of a very dry desert experience.
I know I shouldn’t be surprised, because this is the God written of all through the Bible. And yet, when it happened to me on a personal and individual level, it changed my whole worldview.
Lord Jesus, You are the same yesterday, today and forever. You are faithful and just and You keep Your promises. You make a way where there is no way. May all power and glory and honor be Yours forever and ever. Amen.
“Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you. --Jesus Matthew 17:20 ESV
