Coronavirus Pandemic

Due to Covid-19, a viral strain that is “new” and unfamiliar, the world we live in has turned upside down. Governments are taking extreme precautions to flatten the curve of this pandemic. Life as we know it has changed in the matter of a couple of weeks. Kids and adults are restricted from attending school, and discretionary shopping and traveling is prohibited. Large group gatherings are banned. The stock market tanked and many businesses have had to close down or scale back. Mass hysteria and panic have caused people to stock up on toilet paper of all things!

While keeping abreast of this new and unfamiliar situation, I fight my own anxiety and panic. I keep reminding myself that God has even this. I give Him my fear often; asking Him to continue replacing it with peace, love and joy. And I continue praying for continued wisdom, discernment, and strength to do what must be done in this unexpected situation.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall in to the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; He lifts His voice, the earth melts. Psalm 46:1-6

Father God, you are our place of refuge, security and peace. Your Love never fails. Your perfect Love casts out fear. You’ve got even this; whatever “it” is. I’ve seen Your work, not only in the Scriptures, but in my own life. I trust You completely. Amen.

Be still (stop fearing; acknowledge and be in awe of) and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
