Huskies, Horses, and Sparrows

Blue skies heralded this Sunday morning. The weather was a crisp and chilly 6 degrees in the state of Vermont. The sun was out, though, and millions of crystals glittered on the frozen tree branches and the granite laced river.

While driving, I glanced to the right and noticed two huskies looking up into the sky, facing the sun. Further on, a pasture lay frozen and a horse stood looking up into the sky, facing the sun.

Then, while stopped for coffee, I noticed a tree filled with sparrows singing at the top of their little lungs as the sun crept higher into the sky. They were hopping up and down in the branches; full of energy and joy.

My heart was satisfied as I marveled at the beauty I’d witnessed.

Looking up into the sky and facing the sun; I felt its rays warming my soul and I smiled. What a wonderful Creator we serve.

Hallelujah! You who serve God, praise God! Just to speak His Name is praise! Just to remember God is a blessing— now and tomorrow and always. From east to west, from dawn to dusk, keep lifting all your praises to God! Psalm 113:1-3

Father God, You are higher than anything and anyone. You outshine everything we can see in the skies. Who can compare with You, our God, so majestically enthroned? The heavens and the earth are magnificent! You care about the poor and oppressed. You rescue those who put their trust in You. (paraphrased Psalm 113:4-8) May Your Name be praised above all others. Forever and ever. Amen.
