The most holy object you’ll run into today (NOT counting God) is another human being.
“Here there are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal.” The Weight of Glory C.S. Lewis
It’s astounding to think that every person you and I run into is made in the image of God. It’s vitally important to our Creator that we treat His creation with love and compassion.
Jesus was asked by a lawyer what the greatest commandment was. He replied, Love God and Love each other. (Paraphrased Matthew 22:34-40)
Father God, You show us clearly how to love others. I mistakenly thought that loving my neighbor meant being a doormat to anyone that wanted to use me that way. I also was afraid of what other people thought about me so I tried to please them and not You. Not anymore! Thank You Jesus, for showing me how to love others in a healthy, boundaried, God-fearing way. Because of the way You love me, You continue to open my eyes to what REAL LOVE looks like. The more I study You and Your life, the more I see how to really love others. Amen.
For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ. Galatians 1:10-12 NKJV
