Who or What Defines You?

Who are you? Single, married, divorced, widowed....Male, female, heterosexual, homosexual....Young, old, healthy, sick....Tall, short, thin, fat...black, white, Asian? God, the One Who created you LOVES YOU right where you are today, at this very moment. He loved you before you were born. He loved you in your mother’s womb. He loved you after you were born. He loves you today and He will love you tomorrow. His Love just is.

“Define yourself radically as one beloved by God. That is the true self. Every other identity is illusion.” Brennan Manning Abba’s Child

Consider the kind of extravagant love the Father has lavished on us—He calls us children of God! It’s true; we are His beloved children. And in the same way the world didn’t recognize Him, the world does not recognize us either. (1 John 3:1) When we feel like we are not good enough to be loved by God, we should remember that God’s love is greater than our doubts. We must silence the sounds of condemnation so we can hear the voice of God’s loving assurance and remember that He has selected us to be part of His family. (The Voice)

Father God, we will never understand Your love. It is unfathomable to the human mind. NO ONE will ever love us the way You do. Help all who read this to ask, seek and knock; to come to a saving knowledge of You, Your Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

My loved ones, we have been adopted into God’s family; and we are officially His children now. The full picture of our destiny is not yet clear, but we know this much: when Jesus appears, we will be like Him because we will see Him just as He is. All those who focus their hopes on Him and His coming seek to purify themselves just as He is pure. (1 John 3:2-3)
