“When there’s one crab in a pot, you need to make sure there’s a lid on the pot. But, if there is more than one crab inside, there is no need for a lid because all the other crabs make sure none of them climb out of the pot.” Pastor Corey Graves (paraphrased 5/27/18)
Nehemiah was called to do a job; rebuild the wall in Jerusalem. He knew it and the Lord confirmed it. But throughout the process, he faced crushing opposition. People were jealous and had ulterior motives. They made his life miserable so he wouldn’t accomplish his goal. But, that didn’t stop Nehemiah. With God’s help, Nehemiah accomplished what had been laid on his heart. He completed his task.
Father God, no one likes it when we climb out of our “pot” and take hold of all You have planned. Family, friends and acquaintances can criticize, judge and condemn us; to pull us back down into the pot. But, if we are being led by the Holy Spirit and Your Word, there is no end to the things You will do when we keep our eyes and ears focused on You. Amen.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)
