God, Who Are You?

I try to pull weeds for at least 30 minutes daily around our home. It sounds weird, but I enjoy the challenge. I also feel closer to God when I’m out in the sunshine, enjoying the beauty of spring and summer. Today, I stopped and studied a poppy. The flower was almost as big as a dinner plate with brilliant orange red petals waving in the breeze. I thought the center of a poppy was black but upon closer inspection, realized it’s a deep dark purple and the pattern is indescribable. I looked up at the sky and marveled, “God, Who are You?”

He waters the furrows with abundant rain. Showers soften the earth, melting the clods and causing seeds to sprout across the land. Then he crowns it all with green, lush pastures in the wilderness; hillsides blossom with joy. The pastures are filled with flocks of sheep, and the valleys are carpeted with grain. All the world shouts with joy and sings. (Psalm 65:10-13)

Heavenly Father, You are the Creator of this planet! Your Work is beautiful! Please help all who enjoy “mother nature” to look deeper; behind the scenes and recognize You as The Creator. Everything You made is good; very good. Thank You!

Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.Genesis 1:11
