Treasure in Jars of Clay

”But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed." (2 Corinthians 4:7-9)

According to Paul, our physical bodies can be compared to jars of clay with great treasure inside. Our bodies come in all shapes and sizes, each designed by the Heavenly Potter for whatever purpose He desired. (Isaiah 45:9, 64:8 Romans 9:21) Our bodies are beautiful, functional...and breakable. Our bodies are temporary housing places for the Treasure God has given us, Jesus Christ.(GotQuestions.org)

Heavenly Father, You live inside me! You are continually working in my life; restoring, renewing, and refreshing this temporary earthly body. Someday though, I will have a new body; one that never decays and dies. (1 Corinthians 15:20-23) A body that will live with You forever in the Home You are preparing. (John 14:2) You extend an invitation to “whosoever will” to come to You while still in these earthly bodies. (Revelation 22:17) A relationship with You is the greatest Treasure any earthly vessel can hold! Thank You Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
