Do. Not. Fear.

"I'm not scared," the little girl said as she stared up at the giant in front of her, "Jesus is with me." This scene made me think how often fear has reared its ugly head in my own life. There are times I don't understand the circumstances around me and I struggle because I want to be in control. But, if I humble myself before God, He is there and He helps me face my fears head on. The Psalmist writes in chapter 56:3-4: When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, Whose Word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?

Father God, You say there is no fear in love. But Perfect love (that's You) drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18). Thank You for loving me in my humanness and for showing off Your strength in my weakness. Amen.

My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9
