Ramming A Ram

The red traffic light turned green and I hit the gas. It was raining heavily and I looked down for a moment to grab my coffee cup. In an instant, I felt a sharp thump and realized I’d hit the truck in front of me.

We both pulled into a nearby parking lot. I called the insurance company while the man I hit took pictures of the damages to his Dodge Ram. I was pretty shook up. I really hate it when I mess up!

The fellow I hit didn’t flip me off or call me names. He was kind and gentle even though his truck was only three months old. Before driving away, I told him to please tell his wife what a gentleman he had been about the whole accident.

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. James 1:19-20

Father God, thank You for Your protection. Also, thank You that the other driver didn’t yell and get in my face with anger. Help me to be like that man when things don’t go my way. I cannot control what happens to me...BUT, I CAN CONTROL HOW I RESPOND. A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. Proverbs 15:1 Amen.

In your anger, do not sin. Ephesians 4:26
