My mom and I were discussing how human nature predisposes us to remember the bad things people have done. We run into someone and our first thought is “I remember what he/she did”....or.... “did you hear what they did to so and so...??”
Oftentimes, we fail to understand that there are two sides to every story and, most importantly, we are capable of doing the exact same thing! “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9
God knows the human heart well, and so He sent His Son, Jesus, to give those of us who put our trust and faith in Him; hope and a future.
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” Ezekiel 36:26-27
Father God, You are in the business of saving us from ourselves and then helping us change from the inside out; with Your divine Help. Your Word and Your Holy Spirit are our constant companions as You clean us up...our thoughts, our words and our actions. Please help me to remember how wicked my own heart can be and to continue to ask and trust You to help me do better. Also, please help me to show others the same love You show me daily. Amen.
