We Reap What We Sow

My husband isn’t a farmer, but he did plant a couple of clover fields this year. It amazes me to see how many sprouts came up (almost overnight). A harvest of much more than we sowed is already making its appearance.

Farmers plant seeds because they know a single kernel can yield dozens, scores and even hundreds of seeds. It is the same way with sin and righteousness—a small decision to do either good or bad reaps a much bigger crop, for either joy or sorrow. (Dr. Charles Stanley)

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7) This verse describes an unalterable law that affects everyone (believers and nonbelievers alike) in all areas of life—family, work, and pleasure. It is both a warning and an encouragement from God.

Who we are today is a direct result of our past choices. Our thoughts and actions determine what kind of people we will become. Those who seek God’s wisdom will have great insight into the future to make wise decisions. It is a shortsighted person who thinks only of the here and now and does as little as possible. (Dr. Charles Stanley)

Father God, this principle is so true. Please help me to make wise choices based on what Your Word says. Help me not to live my life carelessly and without purpose. Help me not to mock You by turning my back on your Truths or think I can outwit You or that the rules don’t apply to me! You promise that we humans must “all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10) Amen.

We reap what we sow, we reap more than what we sow, and we reap later than we sow.....(Dr. Stanley)
