Hi Beautiful!

When I shop in a local store, one lady always greets me with, “Hi Beautiful!” When she does this, I break into a big smile and answer, “Hi back, Beautiful!” This exchange always brightens my day.

Proverbs 30:31 says, “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”

My mom taught me to work on being pretty from the inside out. She encouraged me to develop and grow my relationship with God first. She also taught me to take care of my outward appearance, but made sure I understood that it’s far more important to be beautiful on the inside.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” 1 Peter 3:3-4

Father God, I struggle with being beautiful on the inside especially when I demand my own way or give in to fear and worry. Please help me to fear only You and be obedient to Your Word. I realize that without You, there is no beauty inside of me. Please help me to continually strive to have a gentle and quiet spirit. You know how often I fail and yet You never give up on me. Amen.
