Okay, so my husband and I just purchased an “old people” bed. You push a button to elevate the head and/or knees if needed. I love teasing him about our aging bodies. Soon, he will receive his first AARP card (mine’s coming soon enough) and I can’t wait to use it to save money!
Aging. Ugh. Adam and Eve’s original bodies were not created to age and die. But, because of the choices they made in Eden, all humans get to experience this process if we live long enough. I personally don’t like the aging process, but, instead of getting depressed about it, I choose to embrace and even rejoice in my age. (Thanks Mom, for your example!)
My physical body is in the process of decay and will eventually die. My days have been numbered (Job 14:5) before I was born and nothing will change that fact. But that is not the end. Thank You Father!
For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
1 Corinthians 15:53-55
“Father God, our true citizenship is heaven. You promise that someday, You will transform my lowly body into a glorious body that will live forever. It will never age, never get sick, never die.
Oh, and thank You for humor. It is a wonderful gift to have during the aging process. Amen.”
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
